“Draw nigh to God, and He will
draw nigh to you…” (James 4:8a)
People who really love God are
always branded fanatics. In a way, this is true because they are so consumed
with their love for God that they serve God “crazily.” The Apostle Paul who
might have been branded a fanatic in his time said: “But the natural man
receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God; for they are foolishness unto
him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned” (I Cor.
2:14).
The truth is that the level of
your love for God determines the ease with which you let go of the sensual
things that stand as distractions from true service of God. In other words,
love is the determining factor. Love for God makes the difference. Our LORD
Jesus Christ was misunderstood and misrepresented and, even today, He is still
not known by many. So He proffers a simple principle to help men out. Take the
pains to study and know who Jesus is. Then you will understand and discover
what He can do for you.
When you discover what He can do for you, you will
receive Him. When you receive Him, you will get rest for your soul. Jeremiah
48:10 says, “…cursed be he that doeth the work of the LORD deceitfully, and
cursed be he that keepeth back his sword from blood''. In essence, all the
Christians who are pretending to do the work of God are not real but are
manipulators. They are toilng with the sins that beset them and hiding under
the cover of the church. They have a complex problem because they are
unwittingly loitering in the territory of the enemy of their soul and may
ultimately end up being cursed or consumed. God forbid!
Let this message serve as a wake call to you today. If what you are reading describes your present relationship with God, be real! Accept the Lord's invitation. Go to Him in all honesty and He will relieve you of all the excess burdens that the enemy of your soul has used to spirit away your rest. The work of God is very easy if you understand the love relationship existing between you and God. Based on this love relationship with Him, nothing is too much for any believer to do for God. That is why Jesus says, “… my burden is light.” God can never give anyone a responsibility that will overwhelm him/her. Before God gives you any responsibility, He has already given you the corresponding ability to cope with and accomplish it.

I make bold to tell you in the name of Jesus Christ the Son
of the Living God, that you can become, do and have all that God has destined
for you. Everything God has assigned to you in the house of God can be done by
His grace. All you need to be fully motivated is love. If you love God, you
will not need supervision. You will not grumble about your time, money, and
labour in the house of God. You will love Him enough like Abraham to give up
your Isaac. Contrary opinions, comments, and bravado from critics will mean
nothing to you.
