#EaglesDevotinal - BY THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD - 2

“Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the Lord unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts”  (Zechariah 4:6)

To accept Christ is simple. it entails confessing your sin, accepting Christ as your Lord and savior and believing in him to be a child of God, but to remain as a Christian, you must be willing to pay a price.  In Philippians 2:12, the Bible says,”...work out your own salvation with fear and trembling”. Nobody can work out your salvation for you. You need to work it out yourself by making up your mind to live by the principles of Christ whether anyone is there or not. At all time and in all things you do, the fear of God must be resident in your heart.
God says it’s not by your might, nor by power but by His spirit. You can work out your salvation by leaning on the spirit of God. God wants to put a divine pipe in you for you to draw oil from heaven so that you will have power to overcome the works of the flesh. Galatians 5:16-17 says in summary, if you walk in the spirit you will not fulfill the lust of the flesh because the flesh and spirit are contrary to each other. There is a constant battle between the spirit of God and the works of the flesh in the life of believers but for you to overcome the flesh, you must yield yourself to the Holy spirit who would empower you to overcome the works of the flesh.
Some people who do the works of the flesh really want to stop but they still find themselves doing it. In most times, after yielding to the flesh, they feel very guilty.
The Holy Spirit will help you to walk in Him so that you will not fulfill the works of the flesh.

Prayer/Confession: In the name of Jesus, I receive my victory over the works of the flesh. I overcome lasciviousness, deceit, adultery, fornication, lies, uncleanness and every form of sin in my life in the name of Jesus.

Words of wisdom: The spirit and the flesh are in constant battle over you. Who you yield to, determines who takes charge of your life.
