“...Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a
spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the LORD of hosts,
the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied...” 1Samuel 17:45.
David after he was anointed as the king of Israel
carried food to his brothers on the battle ground. They said he was too small
to fight on the battle field so they said, “bring us food”. Though he knew he
was king, he was not proud, he still went. He kept his cool. When he got to the battle front, he heard Goliath
shouting in 1Samuel 17:8 “...Why are ye come out to set your
battle in array? am not I a Philistine, and ye servants to Saul? choose
you a man for you, and let him come down to me”.
When David
heard these words, the king nature in David rose up and he said, “who is this
dog speaking to God’s people...” His brothers tried to shut him up but he refused
because he knew who he was. He was a king. The king nature in him arose. When
David, a 5.3 feet tall man faced a 13 feet Giant man, he was not afraid because
he knew who he was. Goliath said, 1Samuel 17:43, “And the
Philistine said unto David, Am I a dog, that thou comest to me with
staves?...”
But David talking like a king in 1Samuel
17:45 said, “...Thou comest to me with a
sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of
the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied...”. He spoke like a king and with one little stone,
he killed Goliath.
David got the victory because he faced Goliath,
the giant not as David but as King David.
When you face your giant/goliath, mountains,
difficulties etc do not face it as you, face it as the king in you. You have
been anointed to get the victory. God said to Joshua, as i was with Moses, so i
will be with you. No man will stand before you. That promise is also for you.
If you are a child of God, Face your Goliath as a King. Speak and act like a
king because you are a king.
Prayer/Confession: In the name of Jesus, every
Goliath in my life and destiny, i cut off your head. You shall not see my end,
i shall see your end in the name of Jesus.
