#EaglesDevotional -- EAT THE WORD

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God” John 1:1.

Jesus is the word of God. If Jesus is the word of God, then the word of God is also Manna: In John 1:4, it says, “In him was life; and the life was the light of men”.  Jesus is “what is this”. The word of God is also “what is this” Just as Israel ate the manna, you are supposed to eat the word of God. You must learn how to eat the word of God. You eat the word by meditating on it. In Jeremiah 15:16, Jeremiah said, I found your word and I ate it. In Ezekiel 3:1-3, God commanded Ezekiel to eat the roll.

In Revelation 10:8-10, Apostle John came face to face with Jesus and Jesus said to Apostle John, “John there is an angel with a little book. Before you go back to the world, take the book from the book from the angel and eat it”. John said, “I ate it and in my mouth, it was like honey”. No wonder David said o taste and see that the Lord is good. In that same Revelation 10:10, John said, “it was sweet in my mouth but when it got to my stomach, it was bitter”.

How can it be sweet in the mouth but bitter in the stomach?
The reason the word of God is bitter is because it reveals your true nature. When you begin to eat the word, it tastes sweet but when the word begins to show you your true nature, it becomes bitter. The word of God is sweet and bitter at the same time. The bitterness in the word of God is that part that reveals your nature. It shows you who you really are. When the word shows you your nature, do not run from it, run to God.

Prayer/Confession: Father, your word is ye and amen, let every word you have spoken concerning me manifest in the name of Jesus. I speak against every negative word spoken against me and counter it with the word of God in Jesus name.
