“Jesus Christ the
same yesterday, and today, and forever” Hebrews 13:8
The world is changing. There was a time man
believed that the earth was flat but now we know the earth is round. There was
a time when you want to travel to Kaduna State from Delta State, it took days,
but now you can do same in a couple of hours by air. From London to New York
used to be 10 hours but not anymore.
There was a time when we were under civilian
regime, then military regime, then civilian regime again; there was a time we
were using British pounds and shillings and pence, then we changed to Nigerian
pounds, shillings and pence, then to Naira. Life is changing. There was a time,
if a girl came by 12 midnight, it was trouble, now some parents encourage their
daughters to sell their bodies for money.
There was a time school certificate
was a big thing but now you can have degrees and no job. A lot of things have
changed. There was a time when it was difficult that a person stole one million
Naira but now people steal billions of Naira and still go to church on Sundays.
Many things change
but there are some things that will never change. In Ecclesiastics 12:13 and
14, the Bible says, “Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter:
Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty
of man. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing,
whether it be good, or whether it be evil”. God will never
change.
The conclusion of the matter is for you to fear God and Keep His
commandments. That is your whole duty for He will not change. He has never and
will never change. He is same yesterday, today and forever. Do not run after changing
things. Run after the unchanging God.
Prayer/ Confession: The God who changes things
but changeth not. Change my circumstances today that your glory be seen.
