The Federal Executive Council on Wednesday approved the inclusion of National Youth Service Corps members in the National Health Insurance Scheme across the country.
The Minister of Health, Prof. Isaac Adewole, disclosed this to State House correspondents at the end of the council’s meeting presided over by the acting President, Yemi Osinbajo, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Adewole said the approval was given in order to put a stop to unnecessary deaths being recorded among youth corps members across the country.
He said, “The other memorandum has to do with how we will prevent unnecessary death among youth corps members across the country.
“The council approved the memo that henceforth, we will include NYSC members in the National Health Insurance Scheme across the country.
