“And when
he removed him, he raised up unto them David to be their king; to whom also he
gave testimony, and said I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine
own heart, which shall fulfill all my will” ( Acts 13:22).
It is very clear here that God specifically chose David. He was not
chosen randomly. He was not a try-your-luck choice. He was intentionally or
deliberately chosen. When God said David was a man after His heart, He was
actually saying that He was convinced that David would fulfill His will.
Now I want you to take note of the following: Purpose and the will of
God are strongly connected. So then, what is Purpose?
Purpose means the intended result of an effort, the why of any act or
thing. Accordingly, there is a purpose why you are in this world. For instance,
the choir in every church has a purpose.
The purpose of the choir is to minister in songs. The will or purpose of
God for you is the road map that brings you to where you will fulfill His will
and your will.
The will of God is
the guideline. It is what you may want to call a step-by-step outline, solely
intended to fulfill God's purpose in your life
WORDS OF WISDOM: Purpose is the why of any act or thing.
PRAYER/CONFESSION: Father, show me my purpose in life and let your will be fulfilled in
my life, in Jesus name.
