"...How long shall ye between two opinions? If the Lord shall
be God, follow him..." (I Kings 18:21).
A disciple is simply a follower of Christ. To follow means to walk
after and obey the principles of the person being followed. In the above
scripture, Elijah was telling the people that they needed to choose whom to
follow between God and Baal as they could not follow both at the same time. The
same way, you cannot follow God and something else at the same time. You must
choose whom to follow. If God, then God; there is no sitting on the fence.
You cannot say you follow Christ and the mark of the devil is
still in your life. You still do things you did when you were in the world; you
still tell lies, steal, bear false witness, having unforgiving spirit,
fornicate, commit adultery, etc. Those are all marks of the devil and if they
are seen in your life, then your Christianity is questionable and the fullness
of God’s blessings will not be seen in your life.
If God is your choice, then serve him in spirit and in truth. You
must be disciplined. You must say no to the things of the world and uphold
Christ at all times. God detests unfaithful believers. Let your yea be yea and
your nay be nay.
