“… let
us offer the sacrifice of praise to God
continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name”. (Heb 13:15 KJV)
The
Bible in I Pet. 2:9 calls us a royal priesthood. In others woods we are a
kingdom of priests.
In
the Old Testament only a few people could be priests and they had to be from
the tribe of Levi. But in this new
dispensation that we are in, as born again believers we all are priests. As kings we exercise authority. As priests we have responsibilities to walk
or function in the authority of our kingdom, we must carry out our priestly
duties, which is to offer sacrifices.
One
of such sacrifices is the sacrifice of praise" When thing are going well
for you, praise is very easy, it could even be spontaneous. But when all hell
is breaking loose, praise is a sacrifice. Especially at difficult times, you
praise will always produce a smoke that carries a sweet smelling aroma to the
presence of God.
In
Acts chapter 16 when Paul and Silas where locked up for preaching the gospel,
they offered the sacrifice of praise. When they did, there was an earthquake,
their bounds were broken and the prison doors were open. Whatever the
limitation was, it was removed because they dare to praise God even when chains
were on their hands and legs.
It
doesn’t matter what you are going through, open your mouth and offer praises to
God. You are not suppose to be complaining when things are difficult. You are
supposed to become a priest at that moment and offer sacrifice of praise to
your God that can get you out of that situation. As you offer your own sacrifice of praise
today, you will be loosed from every oppression. The power of the kingdom will
be manifest in you and for you.
