"And he tarried seven days, according to the set time that samuel had appointed: but samuel came not to Gilgal; and the people were scattered from him. And saul said, Bring hither a burnt offering .... and samuel said unto saul, thou has done foolishly: thou hast not kept the commandment of the Lord thy God, which He commanded thee: for now would the Lord have established thy kingdom upon isreal for ever. But now thy kingdom shall not continue..." ( 1 Samuel 13:8-14).
In those days in Isreal, before any war, a sacrifice must be made to a God by a priest in line with specific instructions from God Himself.
Samuel, a priest and a prophet of God had told saul that he would come to offer the sacrifices but did not show up at the appointed time. However, Saul not understanding time and seasons, panicked because of what he saw around him and went ahead to offer the sacrifice he had no right to, instead of waiting for samuel.
Samuel arrived a day after and queried saul for his action. Saul lost the kingdom. In other words, Saul would be the king only for a season, rather than having an everlasting dynasty. What an abortion of destiny!
We cannot talk about seasons without mentioning new beginnings. Every new beginning is a new season. God works with "Times and Seasons." If you understand times and seasons, you would go through life in circles.
