“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved” (Romans 10:9)
This is the day that the Lord has made and we would rejoice and be glad in it. God’s message for you today is that there is a way out from total condemnation. All you need do is to confess with your mouth and believe that Jesus is raised from the dead for you to be saved. The next verse says, “For with the mouth confession is made unto salvation” (Romans 10:10). You see that there is a connection between the heart and the mouth.
Now, the strange thing in verse 9 is that the Bible says, if you can believe that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved. If you can believe that God raised Christ from the dead, it will be easy for you to believe that there is heaven. And if you believe that there is heaven, then you will want to meet the conditions that will take you there. Salvation of the soul is important as it is the foundation and the building block for whatever solution one seeks. It is the reason behind the admonition contained in the book of Matthew which says, “… seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. (Matthew 6:33).
Believing is the starting point of the way out. The next stage is confession. “… with the mouth confession is made unto salvation” (Romans 10:10). You believe, and then confess, and your confession becomes practical righteousness.
The word "salvation" means "solution". When God says He will show you His salvation, He means that He will give you the solution to whatever problem that is confronting you, no matter what name it has. The biggest challenge that is confronting human beings today is not how to put food on the table or how to put an end to recurring unpleasant events, but ensuring the salvation of the soul.
In the book of John, the Bible says, “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you” (John 14:1-2).
I referred you to the above passage to press it upon you that heaven is real. Salvation also is real. If it were not so, Jesus Christ would have told us. If you believe that God raised Christ from the dead, confess it and kill sin from your life. You will get there. Do you believe God raised Christ from dead? Settle this question in today.
