“As for me I will behold Thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with Thy likeness” (Psalm 17:15)
The word
Christian translated from the original Greek word means “like Christ.” In other
words as a Christian you must have same attributes like Christ. By extension,
the only thing that guarantees your satisfaction is waking up and living like
Christ in everything . The Bible says “if you are Christ, you are a new creature old things have passed away and all
things have become new” (2 Cor. 5:17). Your identity in Christ is the one potent factor that can preserve your achievement
and satisfaction in life. You must have the same attributes like Christ. From today's verse of scripture, David knew that
the moment he can achieve that purpose “to be like Christ", then will his satisfaction
be complete. In life, you do not need
prophesy to identify a Christian. If you do not have the character of Christ,
then you are not a Christian. The Bible
says such a person cannot have satisfaction. Even when he/she tries to find satisfaction, it will not be available
because he/she is not like Christ.
Sin is one
of the easy ways for misfortune to befall a person and the most potent way to wriggle out of this trap is to be obedient to divine instruction.
David
discussing with God as can be gleaned from our main scripture said what will
guarantee his satisfaction is when he wakes up and becomes like Christ in
deeds. If you decide today to be
obedient to the word of God by wearing the true character and identity of Jesus
Christ, your satisfaction in life is guaranteed. Your achievement is also protected
from the spirit of wasters.
PRAYER/CONFESSION: Father, in
the name of Jesus, let your word pierce my heart like two edged sword that I may be broken to conform to you words.
I repent from the spirit of disobedience. Awake in me your true identity, O Lord that I may look and be like Christ.
I repent from the spirit of disobedience. Awake in me your true identity, O Lord that I may look and be like Christ.
WORDS OF WISDOM: Sin is the
potent factor that exposes one’s life to dissatisfaction.
