“Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of
counsellors there is safety.”
Proverbs11:14
Proverbs11:14
If you must win all the battles
that pile up on your what to destiny and defeat all the enemies that lay wait on
your path to rest, you must uncover the secrets of your opposition and use it
for your victory. More importantly, you must realize that you need others to
succeed.
If you have been thinking
differently, change the mind-set that you are the first person on this journey
of life. Many people have gone before you in the same career path that you have
chosen. Those that have gone before you have had experiences of both failures
and success. You will only be walking into disaster if you decide to go on life’s
journey without seeking counsel.
No man, no matter how strong can
exist as an island. You cannot succeed alone. You need people who are more
knowledgeable than you to counsel and to lead you. There is absolutely nothing wrong
in inquiring from such people and knowing how they arrived successfully at the
destination. Lessons learnt from the experienced helps you avoid their mistakes
and places you on the fast lane to your destination.
Many people fail in business because
they do not conduct a proper survey before commencing business. They don’t study
and ask questions whether or not the business is viable. There are students who
have failed exams not because they were not intelligent, but because they
failed to seek counsel on how the examination questions of previous years
looked like. Proverbs 11:14 says, “Where
no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors there is
safety.”
The children of Dan in Judges 18:5 asked the priest for Godly
counsel because they understood the power of counsel. You can be sure of safety
when you discuss with the right persons who have arrived at their place of
destiny and ask them for Godly counsel. Do not also neglect the place of your
spiritual father.
