Yesterday we started treating the reasons Moses kept going back to
Pharaoh even after he kept rejecting and playing him for a fool. And I said it
was because God delivered him from three things. We dealt on the first
yesterday which was Pharaoh’s intellectual control.
The second thing God delivered Moses from is the pride of life.
When Moses knew he was Hebrew, he must have in his heart felt like he was the
only one God could use considering that he was the most educated Hebrew. He was
also next in line to be pharaoh.
Bear in mind; your ability to take your portion does not depend on
who you are. It does not also depend on what you have, it is the gift of God.
In 1st Samuel 16 God wanted a king from the house of
Jesse. Jesse was obviously not the best in all of Israel. Jesse made seven of
his sons pass before Samuel but God did not select any of the seven. The Samuel
asked Jesse in verse 11 “...Are here all thy children? And he said,
There remaineth yet the youngest, and, behold, he keepeth the sheep. And Samuel
said unto Jesse, Send and fetch him: for we will not sit down till he come
hither.” David had nothing to show, the mere fact that he was not
called earlier means he was nobody in the house of Jesse. You may have been
despised, you may not have the credentials but you have a portion of greatness in
this life. More importantly it is the gift of God.
It has nothing to do with your size, height, sex, family
background, educational status, etc. When you begin to enjoy your portion the
world will wonder because it is not a function of what you have or hold but it
is a gift from God.
Prayer/Confession: Lord, Deliver me from the pride
of Life; I will not see life through the eyes of my flesh. I take my portion,
even when I am not qualified.
Words of Wisdom: The bigger your breakthrough, the
bigger your obstacle.
