"...unto thy seed have I given this land..." Gen 15:18
I want to establish a number of things in your spirit. First you
must know that your portion is a gift from God. Romans 11:29 says “For
the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.” This scripture
tells us that when God gives He does not change His mind regardless of the size
of the gift or the size of the obstacle in front of you.
The second thing you must know is God has given you the power and
God has given you your portion but He cannot take your portion for you, neither
can any man take your portion for you, you must take it yourself.
In Genesis 15 God made a covenant with Abraham. In verse 13 God
said “...Know
of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs, and
shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years” but
in verse 14 God revealed to Abraham the first blessing of the covenant “afterward
shall they come out with great substance.” Great substance became their
portion. In verse 18, God revealed the second blessing of the covenant “...Unto
thy seed have I given this land...” By this we know that God gave
Abraham and his seed two portions; a lot of substance and the land of Canaan.
After four hundred years, God raised Moses to confront Pharaoh.
Pharaoh implies anything or person in the spirit realm standing between you and
your portion.
Before you can take your portion you must confront your Pharaoh.
In Exodus 5:1 Moses and Aaron went in and said to Pharaoh “...Thus
saith the LORD God of Israel, Let my people go...” it took eleven
miracles to set them free. Moses also had to say the words “let my people go” seven times.
Ordinarily, we would have expected that since this is the portion of Israel as
we earlier established, that Pharaoh will let them go easily, but it was not so.
In Exodus 5:2 Pharaoh said “...Who is the LORD, that I should obey his
voice to let Israel go?” After this confrontation, Pharaoh doubled the
labour of the Israelites. If you study the book Exodus from Chapter 5 to
Chapter 10 you will see that Moses kept going to Pharaoh and Pharaoh kept
saying no. This whole process with plagues did not happen in one day.
Until you take your portion keep confronting your Pharaoh, no
matter the obstacle Pharaoh puts on your way. Isaiah 40:31 “...they that wait upon the LORD
shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they
shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” Habakkuk2:3 “...though
it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.” Romans8:25 says“But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for
it.”
Prayer/Confession: Lord, give the strength and grace
to confront my pharaoh. I will take my portion.
Words of Wisdom: No man can take your portion for
you, you must take it yourself.
