“Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock,
and it shall be opened unto you” Matthew 7:7
The easiest way to get anything from man or God is by asking.
Taking anything that is not yet yours any other way will be termed stealing.
You may have received things many times without asking but at other times you
would be required to ask for it.
Think of it this way; will a man ever marry a woman if he never
asks her to be is wife? Or will a student gain admission to a school that he or
she did not apply to? Or will a door be opened for you if you chose not to
knock on the door or ring the bell? Unless someone for some reason decides to
go out that door, or will a person get a job if he or she does not apply or at
least make some effort to get it? There may be times when God will arrange a
helper to finish the entire process for you, but you must at some point come
into the picture and work out the job.
This is the point we want to establish today. Matthew 7:7 says if
you want something to be given to you, ask for it. If you search for what you
are looking for, you will find it and if you need a door opened then knock on
that door.
Many Christians have falling victims of this mistake. We want
doors to be opened but we never take the bold step to knock on those doors. We
have never asked for a job in a company yet we expect that our names will
miraculously go into the company list.
You must position yourself for what you want. Be it help, a job,
marriage, business, assistance, etc by asking or seeking or knocking. Jesus said in Luke 11:11 & 12 “If a son shall ask bread of any
of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he
for a fish give him a serpent?"
When you need something from God or man, ask for it and you will.
Prayer/Confession: Lord, I receive the boldness to
ask, seek and knock. Everything I ask for, I will receive in Jesus name.
Words of Wisdom: If you need anything, just ask
for it.
