“For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, then shall there enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place; but thou and thy father's house shall be destroyed: and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?" (Esther 4:14)
Esther was a captive Jew whom the Lord favoured
and made her a queen in the land of her captivity. While being queen, an enemy
of the Jews, Haman sent letters to all the king's provinces, to destroy, to kill, and to cause to perish, all
Jews, both young and old, little children and women, in one day.
Esther’s Uncle, Mordecai perceived the plan
of Haman and sent a message to queen Esther and to charge her that she should go in unto the king, to make
supplication unto him, and to make request before him for her people but Esther replied that she could not go because she had not been called
by the King. She was giving excuses.
When Mordecai learnt from Esther's messenger
that she was unwilling to risk her life for her people, he did not give up.
Rather, he made Esther to realize that God had a purpose for making her a Queen
at the particular time in the history of the Jews.
In the world today, a lot of evil is
planned and done against the kingdom of God, the world system has eaten deep into
the lives of many. Even some believers compromise their faith and beliefs for worldly benefit. You must understand that God raised you up in the Kingdom for a
time like this. God has called you for a particular purpose, no matter where
you find yourself. God wants souls to be saved through you. The question that
you should ask yourself is, am I fulfilling the purpose of God in my life?
As
you read this, I want you to know that you are not dead because, God has a
purpose for your life. The reason you find yourself in that position, office,
business, school, marriage, etc is for the purpose of God to be fulfilled. Do
not take the Grace of God in your life for granted.
Remember, Esther got to the
throne by Grace but she almost missed the purpose why God placed her on the
throne. Many people whom God has lifted tend to forget where they are coming
from and fail to fulfill the purpose of God in their lives. Do you know that in
the work of God, no body is indispensable? God has raised you up for such a
time like this. The world is aching and only the purpose of God can preserve
us. Stop giving excuses, rise up today and begin to fulfill purpose. Let it be
seen that Jesus is the Lord of your life.
Prayer/Confession: Father in the name of
Jesus, let your favour fall on me like rain.
In your mercy, help me to fulfill your purpose for my life. I receive
boldness today to declare your word wherever I find myself and take a stand for
you in the name of Jesus.
