“He that committeth sin is of the devil; for
the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was
manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil” (1 John 3:8 )
There are many people who
celebrate Christmas but do not understand what Christmas is about. They know
that Jesus came but they do not know why He came or why was He born? The son of God was born
that he might destroy the works of the devil and atone us back to God. That is
the reason why He came.
Sin is the work of the
devil that Jesus came to destroy. Other works of the devil include: poverty,
discouragement, fear, sickness, disappointments, etc. However, it is through
sin that every other work of the devil comes. That is why the bible in 1 John
3:8 says, “he that commiteth sin is of the devil for the devil sinneth from the
beginning...”
The devil has used the
power of sin to enslave people. You do not teach a child how to tell lies, the
child just tells a lie. It is almost like it is inbuilt. There is no injection
or hospital that can cure fornication and adultery or any other type of
sin. There is no decree by
government that can change the heart of man. The Bible says, the heart of man
is desperately wicked, who can know it?
It is only God who knows
the heart of man because God made man. If God made man, then only God can cure
man. Even among people who go to church, the heart of man is wicked. Many
Christians have hatred in their hearts. Only God has the power to change the
heart of man.
After the fall of man,
evil became a part of man but Jesus came to destroy the power of sin and evil.
That power must break from your life in Jesus name. In Romans 7:24-25, Paul
said, “O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this
death? I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord...”
It is only Jesus that can
save you. Submit yourself to Him today, let him deliver you. That is the reason
why He came; to destroy every work of the devil in your life.
Prayer/Confession: In the
name of Jesus, you came to destroy every work of the devil in my life
therefore, by your blood; I break the power of sin and every work of the devil
(sickness, depression, oppression, etc) from my life in Jesus name. I command
you lose you hold. I have hope in the name of Jesus.
