“There
hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be
tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to
escape, that ye may be able to bear it” 1 Corinthians 10:13 .
The
fourth key of victory over temptations is knowing that in every temptation you
face, there is a way of escape. God has made a way to escape. The word escape
from the greek translation means “to be smooth as cement”. In Psalm 124:7, the
bible says “Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the
snare is broken, and we are escaped”.
What is snare? A snare is a trap and
temptation. It is the devil’s trap that you fall into but God says you will
escape. In John 10:39 the bible says “Therefore they sought again to take him: but
he escaped out of their hand”
Jesus
escaped out of their hand.
In
1 Samuel 19, David was the commanding officer of Saul’s army but at this time,
Saul was jealous of him and wanted to kill him. He made plans and set a trap
for David. He asked David to play his guitar for him so that the evil spirit in
him would depart.
David
working in innocence obeyed. He had a good heart towards Saul but Saul was
setting a trap for him. David did not even know Saul was setting a trap for
him.
Do
you know Saul was a warrior? He had practiced the skill of hitting his targets.
While David was playing innocently suddenly Saul shot his javelin at David but
the Lord suddenly shifted David and Saul missed his target. See 1 Samuel 19: 10
the bible says and David slipped out of his presence. The last part of that
verse says “…and David escaped”.
Hear the word of
the Lord to you today, There are some persons you think well of but they are
seeking your downfall in return, they have set traps for you and expect you to
fall; some have gone to native doctors because of you but the Lord says “you
will escape every trap of the enemy”. You may not know all the traps your
enemies have set for you but you will escape all. The Lord will deliver you
from them all. In Psalm 34:19, the Bible says, “Many are the afflictions
of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all”.
The Lord will
deliver you from them all in the name of Jesus.
Prayer/Confession:
O Lord, I know you have made a way of escape for me. Open my eyes to see the
way. Deliver me o Lord from this present
affliction(name it) in the name of Jesus. Clap your hands and pray.
In the name of
Jesus, my soul is escaped from the snare of the fowler, my destiny has escaped,
my family has escaped, my business has escaped, my job has escaped, my career has escaped, my
spouse and children have escaped. We shall not be devoured in the name of Jesus.
