“There
hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be
tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to
escape, that ye may be able to bear it” 1 Corinthians 10:13 .
The
third key to overcoming temptation is knowing that God will never allow you to
be tempted above what you are able to handle.
This
means whatever temptation you are facing right now, God is aware of it and
knows and He has given you the ability to overcome it. In Numbers 13:30, when
the nation of Israel was to enter the promised land, they faced the temptation
of giants. In verse 30, Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, “Let
us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it”.
Caleb knew for a fact that God would not
allow them face the temptation He had not given them the ability to overcome.
God
will never allow you to be tempted above what you are able. The power to
overcome that temptation is within you.
If
things were going well with you but suddenly, you started experiencing losses,
lack in business, marital challenges, memory loss in school, children moving
with people of negative influence, etc, you are facing temptation but know that
you have the power to overcome it. Learn the lessons through it and rise above
it. There is power within you.
Rise
up today and activate that power in the place of prayer. In Acts 1:12, the
Bible says, “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become
the sons of God, even to them that believe on
his name”.
As
a child of God, there is power in you to overcome sickness, failure, disease,
etc.
Always
remember that the devil is permanently under your feet. Walk with an
overcomer’s spirit today.
Prayer/Confession:
In the name of Jesus every temptation that has oppressed me, I have the power
to overcome you. Bow in the name of Jesus.
