#EaglesDevotional - KEYS TO VICTORY OVER TEMPTATION -2

“There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it” 1 Corinthians 10:13  .

The second key to victory over temptation is to know without any shadow of doubt that the God you serve is a faithful God. He is dependable, reliable, unchangeable ,unmovable.

When you sit on a chair, you are confident that the chair can carry you. You do not carry it up, examine it, look beneath it before sitting on it. That is faith. You act because you believe the chair is capable to carry you.
God wants you to have unshaken faith in Him that no matter what you are going through today, if you hold on to Him, you will surely see victory.

Abraham, Joseph, Esther, Peter and many others overcame in the Bible because they believed that God was faithful. In Psalm 119:90 The bible says his faithfulness is from generation to generation.

In 2 timothy 2:13 the Bible says if we believe not that God is faithful he cannot deny himself. In other words, even if you do not believe He is faithful, it does not change the fact that He is. In Hebrews 10:23, the Bible says, “Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised...” If God makes any promise to you through His word, He is faithful and would bring it to pass. In Revelation 19:11 his name is called faithful.

The word ‘AMEN’ comes from the same root word as faithful. Amen means “so be it”.In Revelation 3:14 his name is called Amen. When you believe in your heart that the God you serve is faithful, you will see victory over temptations.

Prayer/Confession: O Lord, you are indeed a faithful God. You are too faithful to fail. I trust in you and I know without any shadow of doubt in my heart that I will not be ashamed. I will see victory and your name will be glorified in my life in the anme of Jesus.
