“Let the saints be joyful in
glory: let them sing aloud upon their beds. Let
the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their
hand” Psalm 149:5-6
Praising God at all times should be the attitude
of every believer. Prayer will move God but praise will move the hand of God.
In Psalm 34;1, David said, I will bless the Lord at all times and His praise
shall continually be in my mouth which means, when the going is bad, when it
looks as if nothing is working, when it looks as if everything is against me, i
will bless the Lord at all times.
Bless the Lord in the dark, in the night, when everything looks as if
its going down, just bless the Lord. Why should you bless the Lord? You should
bless the Lord because God is working many things that you do not know. The
fact that you do not see anything does not mean God is not working. In Psalm
149:5-6, David said, “Let the saints be joyful in glory: let them sing aloud
upon their beds. Let the high praises of God be
in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand.
What David was saying here was, when you are
fighting battles, when trouble surrounds you, when circumstances look
impossible, give God some High Praise because in the midst of your praise, your
God will work a miracle; demons will bow.
The two edged sword speaks of the word of God. In
other words, you must praise God according to the knowledge of God you have.
The more you know God, the more effective your praise will be.
You may say no one knows what you are going through
but God does and He will not leave you nor forsake you.
Lift up your head. Let the high praises of God go
up with the word of God. Heaven will respond to you.
Prayer/Confession:
O Lord, I give you all the praise. I send your word into every situation of my
life. I bless you Lord and I know I will never be ashamed in the name of Jesus.
