#EaglesDevotional - COVENANT RELATIONSHIP

“ And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee” Genesis 17:7

If you must fulfill your destiny, you must be faithful in covenant relationships. Hebron is a place of covenant relationship. A covenant is an agreement between two or more persons that is backed by blood. If you are a Christian, the day you accepted Christ, you signed the covenant whether you know it or not. You agreed that Jesus is your Lord and Saviour. Every covenant has principles and the principles of the covenant of your faith are contained in the word of God. God will keep His part and expects you to be faithful in your part, i.e to abide by the principles of the covenant if you must fulfill destiny. Covenant is a very important part of your Christian experience. The Christian church has underplayed the importance of covenant. Covenant is very vital. You cannot have Christianity without covenant because Christianity is built on the blood of Jesus.

The devil is an imitator. He duplicates what God has done. There is no shrine or cult that does not involve covenants. Christianity is based on covenant. The new testament is the new covenant. Every covenant involves blood else it would be invalid. Wherever or whatever blood is involved, something powerful is there and it is not expected to be played with. If you have ever been involved in any kind of covenant that is not Christ’s, you must take steps to set yourself free. You must go for deliverance. It is an obstruction to your destiny. Any other covenant apart from Christ’s is a problem. You will never achieve your destiny in life until you break free from any other covenant.

In the Bible, you would discover that Abraham, Isaac and Jacob were buried in Hebron, the place of covenant relationship. The strongest covenant God made was with Abraham. He renewed it with Isaac and also with Jacob. The three of them were not buried in Hebron by accident. God wanted them buried there intentionally to remind us that covenant is everlasting. Abraham died many years ago but the covenant God made with Abraham is still applicable to believers today. The blessing of Abraham has been transferred to us. What Jesus did when He came was to renew it. When you accept Christ, you accept the new covenant but you must live your life according to the principles of Christ.

Prayer/Confession: I will fulfill my destiny. The purpose for which i was born will come to pass in Jesus name.
