#EaglesDevotional - YOUR WORK CONNECTS TO YOUR DESTINY

Servants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ; Not with eye service, as men pleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart; With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men: Knowing that whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive of the Lord, whether he be bond or free” Ephesians 6:5-8.

Some persons live their lives as if there is no God because they find it difficult to believe in what they do not see. The Bible says in Psalm 14:1, “The fool hath said in his heart, there is no God...”
You must understand that everything you do in life involves God. The way you work (whether for the church, or Government, a private company or yourself), and the way you treat people while working involves God and your destiny.

Do not take your work for granted irrespective of who you work for. Work here includes businesses, education, job, ideas, etc. There are people who have nonchalant attitudes to the work they do because they believe they are working for a man and the salary they get is not good enough for the kind of work they offer.

Your destiny is connected to your work and how you handle the work committed to you.

In the scripture above, the Bible is saying, do not offer eye service in the place where you work. It is a sin. Eye service means that when you see your boss, you behave as if you are working, when he is not around, you do nothing. You smile at him when you see him but behind him, you insult him. Eye service affects your destiny. The Bible says, wherever you work, work as the servant of God, doing the will of God from your heart. How you work affects your destiny.

In verse 9, it says, “And, ye masters, do the same things unto them, forbearing threatening: knowing that your Master also is in heaven; neither is there respect of persons with him”. In other words, even the boss has a destiny. Your destiny in Christ can be aborted by your attitude; by what you do and what you do not do.

Prayer/Confession: In the name of Jesus, I thank you for the work (job, business, education, assignment, idea) you have given to me. I receive the grace to work diligently that i may get my reward and fulfill my destiny.
