“And Jesse said unto David his son, Take now for thy brethren an
ephah of this parched corn, and these ten loaves, and run to the camp to
thy brethren; And carry these ten cheeses unto the captain of their
thousand, and look how thy brethren fare, and take their pledge”. 1 Samuel
17:17-18
God gives everyone an opportunity in life but
your faithfulness or unfaithfulness will either help you utilize the opportunity or destroy your opportunity. It is true that sometimes God gives a second
chance to His people, but basically, God gives everyone a major opportunity in
life (a major opportunity/ breakthrough).
Sadly, some persons have missed that opportunity, for others, they may
not have gotten there.
Many times, opportunities come in little
things that look unimportant; e.g, it was while David was busy being faithful
in natural things that God gave him his opportunity. His opportunity was in an
ordinary message ‘take food to your brothers’. David never knew Goliath was on
the battle field when he was being sent, God did not tell him.
Do you know that David did not even hear from
God? He heard from His father. His father did not even know why he was sending
David but God, the master planner knew. If David had refused to go for that errand,
God would have raised another person to kill Goliath but in the main time,
David would have wasted his opportunity and would have lost his destiny.
Many times our opportunity comes in simple
things we overlook and ascribe no importance to. There are people who are
wasting their opportunities and losing their destiny on a daily basis. When you are faithful to anything committed to
you, you will not lose your opportunity. Be careful and be sensitive to
God so that you do not miss Him.
I knew a man who was very faithful as a teacher in a local school. As a result of his faithfulness, God opened the door for him; he is a professor and has greatly influenced his country. He had an opportunity, because of his faithfulness, his opportunity materialized into his destiny. It does not matter who you are or what you do for a living, you have a destiny and an opportunity. Be careful what you do, how you treat people because somewhere in between, God is creating an opportunity for you and if you know that, you will step into your destiny.
Prayer/Confession: Father in the name of
Jesus, I believe my destiny must be fulfilled in Jesus name.
