“That if thou shalt confess
with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath
raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved, for with the heart man believeth
unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation” (Romans
10:9-10).
There is a connection between the
heart and the mouth. Now, the strange thing in verse nine is that the Bible
says, if you can believe that God raised him from the dead, you shall be saved.
Why did it say so? It is because if you
can believe that God raised Christ from the dead, it will be easy for you to
believe that there is heaven; and if you believe that there is heaven, then you
will want to meet the conditions that will take you there.
Believing is the starting point
of the way out. The next stage is
confession. “… with the mouth confession is made unto salvation” (Romans
10:10). You believe, and then
confess, and your confession becomes practical righteousness. In the book of
John, the Bible says, “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God,
believe also in me. . If you believe that
God raised Christ from death, confess it and kill sin from your life, you will
get there. Do you believe God raised
Christ from death?
“For this ye know, that no
whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor coveteous man, who is an idolater, hath
any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God”, what the above
scripture is saying is that those who deliberately lead a sinful life cannot
make heaven. Elsewhere, the bible shows
us another list of those that cannot go to heaven. “And there shall in no wise enter into it
anything that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a
lie; but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life”.
Prayer: Father in the name of Jesus I believe in you and
I confess you as my Lord.
