“Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD:
though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be
red like crimson, they shall be as wool. If ye be willing and obedient, ye
shall eat the good of the land”,( Isaiah 1:18-19).
When a person is separated from God, it is because that
person refuses to change from his/her sinful nature. Separation from God is not
because of what you did yesterday but because of your refusal to change today. The first time I came in contact with the above scripture
many years ago, I was amazed that the Almighty God is ready to reason with a
human being. You can see the reason why I say that separation from God is not
because of what you did yesterday but it is simply because of your refusal to change
today. I plead with you to change from everything evil around your life today.
God is saying all you need do is to admit that what you did yesterday is wrong
and He will take care of the situation today, no matter how bad. “… though they
be red like crimson, they shall be as wool” (Isaiah 1:18d).
The above Bible
passage is trying to explain that no matter the volume or nature of your sins,
whether you are an armed robber or a killer, if you are willing to change your
ways, you will become a friend of God and not His enemy. By obedience to divine
instruction, you can become a friend of God. The Almighty God is saying no
matter how bad you may be, He wants to give you the good of the land to eat. In
other words, God created you to be fulfilled. If there is no fulfillment in
your life it is because you are not willing to change. No human being is
created for bad no matter who that person is. When you obey divine instruction,
you are bound to become a friend of God.
Prayer/Confession: Lord give me the grace to
obey your word so that I can have a fulfilled life.
