“And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is
shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us” (Romans
5:5).
When you wake up in the morning and there is no food on your
table, when you are struggling to make your marriage work, when people laugh at
you because you take your stand for God, when people mock you because of your
stand for Jesus, when people begin to carry rumours about you because they know
you will not bow to any shrine to prove your innocence, etc, see Romans 5:5,
it says, “Hope maketh not ashamed”.
When you have hope within you that today will be better than
yesterday; that your tomorrow is brighter; or that things will change, your
faith will begin to rise. Hope is the midwife that delivers faith., you hope for
something before you can have faith for that thing. Another word for hope is ‘expectation’. In
other words, you must have expectation for your life and link your expectations
to the will of God. Your expectations will not be cut off. They may be cut
short but they will never be cut off. Do not let go of your expectations
because of the challenges you face today. Keep believing that God’s word will
manifest in your life. Your hope in God will never make you ashamed, God will
remove the shame. He is a mighty God, same yesterday, today and forever.
Prayer/Confession: I
trust in you o Lord, I am confident of this very fact that i will not be
ashamed in the name of Jesus.
