“And the apostles
said unto the Lord, Increase our faith. And the Lord said, if ye had faith as a
grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this Sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up
by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you”, (Luke
17:5-6).
Faith is the ability
you have to believe that God would do what he says he would do. Faith is a
doing word. From the text it says, “...ye might say...” meaning you will
say something. You exercise your faith
by doing something with your faith. You must learn how to exercise your faith
because you will never have bigger faith until you use the one you have now.
How do you exercise
your faith?
When you speak the
word of God to every difficulty, believe it and live by the word, you are
exercising your faith. When you begin to use your faith, it begins to develop
and grow. In 1 Samuel 17, David saw goliath and said he was going to
deal with him, his brothers discouraged him; the closest people to you are the
people who may kill your faith, they will discourage you but keep using your
faith until it comes to the place where it can bring down a giant. David made an
explanation why he knew he could bring down goliath. He had killed a lion and
so had a lion faith, then a bear came and he tore it to pieces, at this time,
his faith had risen because he had constantly exercised it. He strongly
believed he could defeat goliath.
When faced by
Goliath, he said, “you come to me with a sword and a spear but I come to you
in the name of the Lord God of Israel”. The goliath in your life will come
down if you learn how to feed your faith. Confront every goliath with the word
of God. The God we serve is the God that works with our faith, every goliath is
coming down. Feed your faith then exercise your faith.
Prayer/Confession: Every
goliath in my life, business, job, family and destiny fall before me. Hear the
word of Lord be destroyed, be uprooted and set ablaze in the name of Jesus.
