#EaglesDevotional - GOD’S PROTECTION – TRUST IN THE LORD

“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might” Ephesians 6: 10

In the scripture above, Apostle Paul says, “Be strong in the Lord and the power of  His might”. He said that because human beings have many things that they put their trust in.
There are people who put their trust in man and in the technology of man. In Isaiah 31:1, the Bible says, “Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help; and stay on horses, and trust in chariots, because they are many; and in horsemen, because they are very strong; but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the Lord”.  Do not put your trust in man or in the technology of man.

There are people who put their trust in money and their possessions. If you trust in money, it is like wind, it comes and go. Some persons put their trust in idols. The Bible says in Isaiah 42:17, “ They shall be turned back, they shall be greatly ashamed, that trust in graven images, that say to the molten images, Ye are our gods”.

There are people who trust in their beauty- They think they can manipulate anybody because of their beauty. That beauty will fail you some day.  Ezekiel 16:14-15.

Some persons trust in their own ability; that is what they can do. They say things like, “I work hard”, it is good to work hard but do not put your trust there because it is God who gives you the ability to work; Jeremiah 48:7  says, “For because thou hast trusted in thy works and in thy treasures, thou shalt also be taken...” Some put their trust in themselves.  Proverbs 28:26 says, “He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool: but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered”.

There are those who like to go to a church where they tell them lies and falsehood. They trust in lying prophecy. Jeremiah 7:8-13; 13:25-26. Anything you put your trust outside God will fail you at one time or the other. Apostle Paul said, be strong in the Lord, not in something else.

Prayer/confession: O Lord, I trust in you, let me not be shamed, let not my enemies triumph over me in the name of Jesus.

Words of wisdom: Anything you put your trust outside God will fail you
