#EaglesDevotional - REIGN IN LIFE

“For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.” The amplified Bible says, “...we reign as Kings through the one Jesus Christ...” Romans 5:17

In Genesis 1:28, God made Adam and Eve king over their environment. God said, subdue the earth and have dominion over the earth. Adam and eve committed high treason, they sinned; sold their power and position to the devil. According to Romans 5:17, the Bible says, “For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)”. In other words, when Adam and Eve sinned, death took over everything. They died spiritually. Their relationship with  God and even the animal kingdom died. Adam could no longer sit and face the animals he named. Even the earth died. God said, they would have to till the ground.

Every thing around man died. Death became king over man and his environment. In the scripture above, Apostle Paul was saying, that if death reigned though an offence, through the death and sacrifice Jesus paid, man can take his former position and take his place as a King. The Bible says, those who have received abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness will reign in life as kings. Which means it is not everybody that can reign in life as kings; only those who have received
(i) the abundance of grace and
(ii) the gift of righteousness.

There is abundance of grace. There is a gift of righteousness. If death reigned as King, now those that have received abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness shall reign in this life, as kings. Not in the world to come. To receive the abundance of grace and gift of righteousness is to receive what Jesus did at the cross of Calvary for you. If you have received Jesus in your life, you are a king.

You may not look, feel, or think as one but God says you are a king and if God says it, you believe it and that settles it. When your spirit believes this, your feelings and thinking will believe it, then you will begin to see a difference in your life. You will begin to take control because a king is to reign and rule. When Jesus died and rose, He set you free, He made you a King to reign in this life.

Prayer/confession: I receive the abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness. I shall rule and reign over every situation and circumstance in the name of Jesus.
