“How
much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal spirit offered
Himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?” (Hebrew. 9:14)
The conscience is that part of your mind that
tells you whether your actions are right or wrong. You as a born again
Christian cannot have a dead conscience. Your conscience must be alive.
Dead
works are basically the works of the flesh but when the blood of Jesus purges
us, it sets us free from acting on these works. This does not mean that evil
thoughts cannot come to your mind sometimes, but when your conscience is
purged, you will not give heed to them.
It
is the blood and its repeated washing that purges us and keeps our conscience
free from guilt so we can serve the living God in spirit and in truth. “…
Having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with
pure water” (Hebrews 10:22). Whatever we have done and will ever do wrong, the
blood of Jesus purges our conscience.
You do not have to allow the devil pull
strings on your heart, you are clean, the blood sets you free, your conscience
is free before God.
Prayer/Confession:
My mind is free from dead works. My mind is free from fear. I am full of faith,
peace and joy. Guilt has no place in me. The blood purges me, I have a clear
conscience because I do right.
