“And two
olive trees by it, one upon the right side of the bowl, and the other upon the
left side thereof.” (Zachariah 4:3)
The
nation of Israel were faced with opposition from enemies within and outside,
this was a period for the people of Israel when they were building the temple
of the Lord, at this time an angel of the Lord
appeared to Zachariah and woke him up then he asked him what he saw,
Zachariah saw a vision. He saw a candle stick made of gold and it had seven
branches with a lamp at the end of it and a bowl on top of it and he also saw
that there was two olive trees at the sides of the bowl there were seven pipes.
From what he saw, the olive tree was constantly producing oil to the bowl and
the bowl was constantly supplying light to the lamp and as a result there was
constant light.
The scripture alighted that Zachariah was
surprised at what he saw. In the normal temple setting there was a candle
stick, a lamp with seven branches and a bowl but what surprised him was the two
olive trees at the sides of the bowl, it was unusual. It shouldn't have been
there. In those days, it was the duty of the priest to go and squeeze oil from
the olive trees; which means it was the priest responsibility to constantly
supply oil in the bowl. Therefore, anytime the priest forgets to do his duty,
it means there would be no oil, and when there is no oil the light would go
off. Another unusual thing is that the pipes he saw
supplied oil from the olive trees whether the priest was around or not, the
bowl will be supplied with oil and as such there will be constant light.
The anointing and power of the Holy Ghost in
this recent time and season in the body of Christ will not depend on any man it
will flow from the source which is God and the gates of hell will not prevail
against it, if you and I refuse to serve the Lord he will raise up stones in
our place, this means that nothing can stop the oil from flowing. The
availability of God’s oil is sure, it will never dry up; God can do without you
and I, it’s a fact that cannot be disputed, so you better find your place and
let him use you today. He will only use those that are available and willing.
Prayer/Confession:
Lord have mercy on me let your oil never run
dry in my life, use me for your service, show me the way you want me to go. I
give myself to you; take control over me in the name of Jesus.
