If
the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do? (Psa 11:3 KJV)
The
most important part of any structure is the foundation. The kind of structure
that is built on the foundation and equally the life span of the structure that
has been built, all depend on the kind of foundation that was laid. There are
many other factors that are affected by the foundation of a structure. The
question is; what kind of foundation are you building on?
Jesus
tells a story about two men who built homes on two kinds of foundation; one on
sand and the other on the rock (Mt. 7:26) . To build on the right foundation
which is the Rock, you must dig out the sand. You will agree with me that the
rock is more solid than the sand. I submit to you that the sand is descriptive
of sin.
Is.
59:2 says: "...Your sins have hidden God's face from you"(my own words). God's face is His grace and favour. To see His face in your
life you must remove the sand and debris of your life (II Tim.2:19). You must
make deliberate move to run from sin. You cannot say you want to overcome
drinking and a drinking parlor is your second home. How will you stop sleeping
with that sister or brother when you still have private meeting behind closed
doors.
Let
me talk about the debris of pride for a moment; Jam 4:6 KJV says: “…God
resisteth the proud”. If you do not remove pride from your life you are
setting yourself up for God's resistance. When you are resisted by God, you
will not go forward in life. It is a dangerous place to be in.
I
thank God that the same Jas 4:6 KJV says “… God …giveth grace unto the humble” As
you build on the foundation of humility; God will cause His face to shine on
you. You will see His grace and glory.

up your hands say; Lord, I receive strength to run away from sin. I am humble;
pride is far from my life. I walk in your grace and glory, all the days of my
life.
