#EaglesDevotional - BE PREPARED (1)

"There is a lad here, which hath five barley loaves, and two small fishes: but what are they among so many?" (Joh 6:9 KJV) 

Jesus was holding a revival in the wildness with a multitude of about 30,000 people. After a while they became very hungry. Only a young lad was found to have some food after a long search, Imagine that! In a crowd of 30, 000 people only a sixteen year old was prepared.

Preparation plus opportunity will produce success. Are you prepared for the place God that wants to take you to?  Are you prepared for the promotion or that new position you are crying for? To attain success in life you must be prepared. If you inherited someone else's wealth or success you must be prepared to sustain it. One of the many reasons for the fall of numerous empires is an unprepared successor. There is no success by mistake; you must be prepared to take the bull by the horn. Are you ready to take up the responsibilities of the new places God has for you.

More importantly, are you prepared for heaven? It is not how long you have been a Christian that matters, but how well you are prepared for Jesus. Getting set for heaven is a conscious act of preparation. No man will enter heaven accidentally. You must realize that heaven is a prepared place for a prepared people.

Your preparation starts with accepting Jesus as your lord and personal savior but that is only the beginning. ”… let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.”  Luk 9:23 KJV
I like the use of the word DAILY  in the Luke translation of this story. Preparing for heaven is a daily act. There is no break for you do not know when we will have to go. (see Mark 13:32)
