“Arise,
go to Zarephath, which belongs to Sidon, and dwell there: See, I have commanded
a widow there to provide for you.” (I Kings 17:9)
Elijah was a human being like you and I. As a matter of fact, the bible
speaking of Elijah in James 5:17 said he “… was a man subject to like passions as we are…”Therefore if God could sustain him in a time of drought and famine,
the same God can sustain you in your dry time.
I have established overtime that every human being on the face of the
earth will at some point go through a period when they feel downcast and dry. A
period when nothing just works no matter how hard you try, a period when you
feel all hell has unleashed its wrath upon you and there is no way out. I call
it the wilderness experience.
It is critical that you understand whenever you get to such a place in
your life that you say to yourself ‘this
too will pass’. It is only a passage to a greater place that God has
prepared for you. The wilderness experience, the dry times, the period of
famine, etc. is only for a period of time. God is taking you to a better place.
The place God is taking you this year is a place of permanent
sustenance. God is changing your status; your shame will be traded for fame.
God is taking you to a place where your influence cannot be measured; He is
taking you to a place where your wealth cannot be quantified. You are
relocating from lack to supernatural abundance.
God is taking you to a place where sickness, diseases, barrenness,
joblessness demonic forces cannot operate in your life. He will give you the
best of things, even those you never prayed for.
