“Therefore my people are gone
into captivity, because they have no knowledge…” Isaiah 5:13
There are different types of
captivity, but the worst of them all is the captivity of the mind.
In 2 Corinthians 4:4 the Bible
says “In
whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not,
lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God,
should shine unto them.” Satan,
who the bible calls ‘the god of this world’ has the capacity of blinding the
minds of people. This he achieves by shoving the wrong information in the faces
of the people of this world that they become unable to recognize and separate
what is good from what is evil.
It is puzzling how the world is
making so much effort in legalizing homosexuality and lesbianism. Men want to
turn to women and vice versa. With so much determination and drive, people are
going in the wrong direction. It is like the fastest man in a race being
blindfolded, and because he cannot see what direction his track is, he runs
with the fastest pace off the track and continues in that way.
The pathetic thing for a person
whose mind is blind is they may not even know they are blind. Because the mind
is caged and covered, such a blind person will not know what to do, what they
have or what they have the capacity to do.
It is tragic that many Christians
in the church today are heading for heaven and hopefully they will get there,
but while in this world, they are living below God’s purpose for their lives
just because they lack knowledge. They do not know why God has placed them
where they are.
There is no substitute for
knowledge, you just have to know.
