“The wicked flee when no man
pursueth: but the righteous are as bold as a lion”.(Proverbs 28:1)
Righteousness cannot be separated
from faith. We are righteous because we believe. Our confidence is based on the
word of God and not in our feelings. We are righteous not because of our
parental lineage but because of our heavenly father's lineage, “whosoever
believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God” (1 John 5:1). We are born of
God, and as God is righteous, so are we.
Righteousness is the nature of
God. That is what you have when you are in Christ. “…if any man be in Christ,
he is a new creature: old things are passed away: behold all things are become
new.” (II Corinthians 5:17)
As a child of God, born of God,
you are new specie. An unbeliever (a person who has not accepted Jesus Christ
as Lord and personal Saviour) is dead spiritually, but your spiritual nature is
born at salvation. You are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus on Earth.
