“And Abijah set the battle in array with an army of valiant men of war, even four hundred thousand chosen men: Jeroboam also set the battle in array against him with eight hundred thousand men, being mighty men of valour.
And Abijah stood upon mount Zemaraim, which is mount Ephraim, and said, Hear me, thou Jeroboam and all Israel:
Ought ye not to know that the Lord God of Israel gave the kingdom over Israel to David for ever, even to him and to his sons by covenant of salt?” (II Chronicles 13:3-5)
“To walk” is to move from place to place with the help of your legs. Dominion means the act of exercising authority over a person or situation. Walking in dominion therefore means to move forward by exercising authority. The reason you must exercise authority as a Christian is because there is a spiritual resistance to your moving forward. The story in the above scripture bestows three sterling qualities on its central figure, the man named, Abijah.
He was a confident man, even in the midst of chaos and war; He was a happy man; He was a man determined to win.
Abijah also knew 3 things which made him whom he was: Abijah knew the covenant of salt;He understood the covenant of salt and he acted on the covenant of salt.
No matter what you know, if you do not understand what you think you know, what you know will be of no benefit to you. This is because understanding enhances the knowledge you have to take you to another level. You cannot implement what you do not understand, even though you know it. When you know what your enemies do not know, you speak louder and more confidently than them.
If you, as a Christian, do not know that you have dominion you can not walk in dominion.
