“And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one’s bands were loosed” (Acts 16:26)
In the above bible passage, two things happened when the foundation was shaken: All the doors were opened and everyone’s bands were loosed. The most important part of any building is the foundation because it determines the strength of the building and how high that building can go.
Turn it spiritually, every family has a foundation. For some, the foundation was good until probably one of the fore parents stepped out of line, maybe in search of something and deserted the foundation. Let me tell you a true story. A man in search of a male child went to a native doctor. He had five girls. In the shrine, they told him that he could have a male child under certain conditions, which he accepted. First, they told him all his daughters would become wives of the shrine and it meant that even though they could marry physically, they would never really be married. Next they told him that any evil that happened to any of the daughters would happen to all of them eventually. And so the man had his son. The five girls grew up and got married. In the passage of time, it happened that one of the daughters lost her husband and before long, four of the five of them lost their husbands. At some point, the fifth and last daughter’s husband became sick and was dying, then it dawned on the woman that something was responsible for the evil that was ravaging the family. Therefore she cried to their father who was forced to confess what he had done.
Have you found yourself committing a particular sin repeatedly, sometimes against your will? Have you noticed a common event happening to all your family members? Do you wish to break out of that circle? Do you wish to have a fruitful life here on earth and still leave the circle in addition? If you have answered yes to all of these questions, then you must deal with the evil foundation upon which your life is placed.
You must tell God that you are His child. Tell God that because you have accepted Jesus Christ, all things about your life should be made new. Tell God that you must not suffer for a foundation that you know nothing about. You must ask God to shake the evil foundation. Let the doors be opened and let all your bands be broken. In addition, you must ask God to build everything about you on a new foundation, Jesus Christ and righteousness. You must pray until you feel a release so that every evil foundation would have been broken. The power behind breaking out of evil and unwanted foundation is prayer. Ask God to destroy the old foundation and establish a new one.
