"He was still speaking
when, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them, and a voice from the cloud
said, “This is my beloved Son, [a] with whom I am well pleased; listen to
him." (Matthew 17:5)
Obedience is
the key to greatness, David’s acceptance by King Saul and amongst his people is
as a result of obedience to instruction. Once there is obedience, the hand of
God will elevate you and cause the seed of greatness to manifest in you.
You can see
from the Holy Bible if you read carefully, that when Jesus was still on earth,
God called him “My beloved” twice. This statement is to show you how important
the word “beloved” is in the kingdom of God, it is of significant importance as
a child of God to know that for you to transcend to being called “the beloved”
of God you must practice the principle of obedience.
Obedience is
the seed you plant to reap greatness, for you to manifest the seed of
greatness, you must align yourself with the word of God in total obedience to
Him. The decision to subject oneself to God in order to please him puts a person
on the straight path of greatness. Jesus was endowed with the glory of God; he
was given a name above every other name and made to be the ruler of the world
because He was obedient to God.
It doesn’t
matter the challenge you are facing or how difficult your situation is, the
only license to completeness, rest, peace and victory is for you to align
yourself with the word of God. Obedience is the key that opens the door to any
obstacle; a man who is well favoured of the Lord is a man that is in obedience
to God. The life of Jesus is an example of the challenges we face as rational
beings in our pursuit to be obedient to God. The Bible said Christ was wounded
for our sake, bruised for our iniquity killed for our salvation, Christ did all
these in total obedience to God and at the end of the day His act of obedient made
Him to be seated at the right hand with God in glory from everlasting to
everlasting. This should be our desire; obedience should be a way of life.
PRAYER/CONFESSION: Father in the name of Jesus, Give
me the strength and the strong will to be obedient to you. Let every power
challenging my glory be destroyed, I speak authoritatively against every forces
from the pit of hell fighting against my destiny, be destroyed in the name of
Jesus.
