God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil” 1 John 3:8
The purpose why God brought you
to this world is called your destiny. You were created for a particular
purpose.
Obedience will unlock your
destiny but disobedience will shut you out from fulfilling your destiny. Even
Jesus had a destiny but it was as a result of obedience, He fulfilled his
destiny. In 1 John 3:8, “...For this purpose the Son of God was
manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
As Jesus prayed in the garden
if Gethsemane, the bible says the sweat from his body was as blood. The destiny
of Christ hung in a balance to be or not to be. It was to be determined either by His obedience or disobedience.
Jesus had a choice either to
accept what life was offering him or to accept his destiny. what life was
offering him at the garden looked better but at the end it would have destroyed
him. Thank God, he made the right choice.
Many have missed their
destiny by disobedience. There may be things you have done that you ought not to
have done, you heard that still small voice try to stop you, you didn’t listen
and you did it. That was where you twisted your destiny. They may be things God
told you to do in time past and you didn’t do and it twisted your life, turned
your life around. Some persons have joined themselves to dangerous people, some
have entered agreements, business deals that have twisted your life.
There are some persons whose
destiny is still hanging on the balance. Be careful that you may not miss it. If you have missed your
destiny by what you did or what you did not do, God is saying to you today,
that you will have another chance.
Samson got another chance
after he lost it as a result of disobedience. Naomi got another chance after
she left Bethlehem in search of bread and went into a strange land where she
lost her whole family. God gave her another chance, she went back to Bethlehem.
The place she left now had the solution.
As you read this devotional
today, God is opening another chance for you to get it right.
May you not make mistake in
your life that will make you bite your finger for the rest of your life. There
are expensive mistakes you have made that almost ruined you, it is affecting
your destiny. God wants to give you a second chance. Just own up to him today,
surrender your all to him today, ask Him to have mercy and give you another
chance. Man cannot give you a destiny. Only God gives destinies. Your destiny
is not earthly, it’s heavenly.
Saul got a second chance but
he lost it again.
Prayer/Confession: O Lord,
please forgive me for the mistake I made in the past that is affecting my
destiny. Forgive my disobedience and give me a second chance.
O Lord, forgive the mistakes
of my father, mother, ancestors that my destiny will not be cut off in the name
of Jesus.
