“With long life will I satisfy him and shew
him My salvation” (Psalm 91:16).
The word salvation means solution.
When God says He will show you His salvation, He means that He will give
you the solution to whatever problem that is confronting you, no matter what
name it has. I observed, the biggest challenge that is confronting human beings
today is not how to put food on the table or how to put an end to recurring
unpleasant events, but ensuring the salvation of the soul. Each time I
preach, salvation of the soul is just as
important for making heaven as it is for having a fulfilled life here on earth. It is the foundation and the building block
for whatever solution one seeks to whatever problem one has. It is the reason behind the admonition
contained in the book of Matthew which says, “… seek ye first the kingdom of
God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you”.
Sometimes ago, I went to preach somewhere and
just before I took the microphone, they brought out a boy to give a
testimony. The young man knew how to
praise God more than most people and knew much about church, but he was a
self-confessed thief. He even showed us
some mobile phones he once stole from that congregation. Good enough for that young man, he
repented.
It is possible for one to be in
church all their life but not be saved. The reason is that there is a mystery
about sin. However, there is a way out
of it.
Prayer: I have long life and satisfaction because God has
shown me His salvation.
