#EaglesDevotional - THE SPIRIT OF UNBELIEF

“But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” (Hebrews 11:6)

One of the greatest sin in this era is the spirit of unbelief. Unbelief is the strategy of the devil to break your link with the supernatural God. It is the opposite of faith. In Hebrews 11:6, without faith, you cannot please God. As believers we walk by faith and not by sight. What then is faith? Faith is believing without any doubt that God will do what He says He will do concerning you. Unbelief on the other hand is when you believe any other thing and not what God says concerning you. Unbelief is when you lack confidence in God and His word. For example, if you are sick in your body and God’s word says you are healed by His stripes but the doctor says this sickness cannot be healed. You then forget what God’s word says and believe what the doctor says, you are living in unbelief.

God cannot be pleased with a man, who has no confidence in him;  a man who doubts the truth of His declarations and promises; who does not believe that his ways are right, or that He is the one and only true God. In Romans 4:20, the Bible says that Abraham staggered not at God promise through unbelief but had strong faith giving glory to God. In other words, Abraham was unshakable in his belief in God’s promise concerning him. He staggered not. Verse 21 says, “And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform”.

As you read this devotional today, this is the heart God wants you to have concerning his promises. Do not doubt in your heart. Believe that God will do what he says he will do.Jesus could not do many mighty works in Nazareth because of their unbelief.(see Matthew 13:58). If you are lost, oppressed, confused, frustrated, dismayed, angry and disappointed, there is hope for you. You can be saved. If you are bound you can be delivered, if you are sick you can be healed, the God we serve is a mighty God. You have to stay confident in God for Him to work in your life.

Prayer/Confession: Father in the name of Jesus, I set myself free from the spirit of unbelief, I declare in the mighty name of Jesus that there is hope in my life, business, job, marriage and in every area of my life. My confidence in Christ is sure, no power can hold me bound. I refuse to stagger at God’s promises in my life through unbelief

Words of Wisdom: Your confidence in God moves the hand of God but unbelief limits God.
